If you love the period look of corseted gowns, sumptuous fabrics and rich colours, then you will love the couture service offered by Uptight Clothing.  Based in Bedfordshire, the designer Janice Whitehorn will deal with you personally from start to finish to design and make the gown of your dreams.  It’s a small independent company which is very busy, so make sure you book well in advance, at least a year! Front Purple Dress

This stunning dress is called Anemone and has a purple silk corseted bodice, the full skirt flows out to a cathedral train and the front of the skirt is swagged up with velvet flowers to reveal a layered tulle underskirt in a contrasting lilac.  As well as the gowns designed to your specification, Uptight Clothing can design jewellery, wire bouquets and tiaras to give you the perfect finish.  Prices start from £2,200 upto £3,800 + for more elaborate designs. It’s obviously not as cheap as some of the high street shops, but it’s not as expensive as some ‘designer’ names and you will get a unique dress that you have control over, as well as a perfect fit.
