Here’s another guest blog post from Diamond Manufacturers on how to choose your style of wedding jewellery.

Wedding Jewellery

Picking the perfect pieces to complement your wedding day look is never an easy task. Do you go for statement style and wear pieces that will stand out or opt for classic, understated sophistication with minimal jewellery pieces?

Vashi Dominguez, Diamond Expert and Founder of Diamond Manufacturers (www.diamondmanufacturers.co.uk) offers his top tips on how to ensure that you dazzle on your big day.

If you are looking for something understated and classic for your big day, opt for a solitaire diamond pendant (http://www.diamondmanufacturers.co.uk/solitaire-pendants) and diamond stud earrings (http://www.diamondmanufacturers.co.uk/earrings/preset/) to complete your bridal look. These pieces will sparkle and stun without drawing attention away from your dress.

However, if you are looking for something a bit different you could choose a piece from Diamond Manufacturers’ new jewellery collection (http://www.diamondmanufacturers.co.uk/new-arrivals/). Delicate vintage style pieces such as the Flower Stud Earrings or Spiral Diamond Necklace can add a touch of glamour to your day and are great additions to any jewellery box.

Choosing jewellery that you can wear long after your wedding day is a sure investment. Not only will your pieces then hold sentimental value but can also be mixed and matched with other pieces in your jewellery collection too.

When choosing jewellery for your big day make sure that it complements your look and style and with any diamond pieces make sure that you are getting the best diamond for your money. Do your research on the 4 C’s (Carat, Clarity, Cut and colour) and shop around.

The Cut:

The cut is the most important factor when determining value of the diamond. A good cut lets a diamond handle light well and emit sparkle. Grades of cut range from ‘Super Ideal’ to ‘Good’, ‘Super Ideal’ being the highest cut grade.

The Carat:

The Carat is the weight of the diamond. The higher the carat the bigger the size.

Colour:

The colour of a diamond is graded by how ‘white’ the stone is. Grade D is colourless and Z has a yellow tint. The whiter the diamond the greater it’s value.

Clarity:

Clarity is affected by flaws known as ‘inclusions’ on or in the stone. Grades of clarity range from FL (flawless) to i3 (visible inclusions).

If you place an order with Diamond Manufacturers (www.diamondmanufacturers.co.uk) before 3pm you can have your items with you the following day, perfect for trying on your complete look before the wedding. And for whatever reason you feel that the pieces you have chosen are not quite right, Diamond Manufacturers offer a 90 days returns policy.

As Irregular Choice shoes go, these little beauties are fairly ‘normal’ but for the bride who wants something just a little bit different from the usual ivory satin shoes they are the perfect accessory.  The Cortesan Floral Bar shoes have a delicate silver scalloped synthetic upper with a unique print that also covers the 9.5cm heel.  At the front of the shoes sit a white orchid style flower for a hint of bridal white, and you can be sure your shoes won’t slip off with the strap that fits over the foot.  But what I love most about Irregular Choice shoes (I have two pairs and a VERY long wish list) is the print on the inside and the sole of the shoes, nobody else sees it, it just there to make you happy which is surely what shoes are made for!

The Cortesan Floral Bar shoes from Irregular Choice cost £78.00.

The beauty of having teeny tiny flowergirls is that you can pretty much dress them in what you want, once little girls get to age five or so, they start wanting to choose their own clothes and possibly refuse to wear certain clothes.  When you have young flowergirls you can go for full on cute factor with a sweet little dress like this Baby Frou Frou Dress from Monsoon which is available in sizes 0 to 3 years.  The sleeveless bodice has a little corsage at the shoulder and tie bow at the back, but what makes this dress ultra sweet is the full net skirt making it perfect for your little princesses.  The ivory colour means that you can introduce any colour to accesorize it, from pretty pastel pink to deep navy blue to coordinate with your colour scheme.

The Baby Frou Frou Dress costs from £55.00 from Monsoon

Wedding Wellies
Wedding Wellies

We would all love to think that if we planned a wedding in the middle of summer that we would be blessed with wall to wall sunshine with just a small possibility of a rain shower.  But if the last few years have taught us anything, it has to be that where the Great British weather is concerned, we have to expect the unexpected and like the Girl Guides ‘be prepared’.  So bridal wellie boots are now almost as important as the bridal shoes themselves as back up footwear.  These quaint Wedding Wellington Boots from Perdita’s Wedding Shoes with their sweet little bows are the ideal choice to wear under a long dress but would look equally good with a short dress as they look like a slim fit and also have a small 5cm heel to give you a little height.

I certainly hope that you don’t need to use the wellies on your big day, and if you don’t, at least you’ll have a fab pair of wellies after the wedding!

The High Catherine Wedding Wellington Boots are from Perdita’s Wedding Shoes and cost £56.00

We have received the following guest blog from Diamond Manufacturers who explain the importance of choosing the right wedding ring according to your lifestyle and budget.

Wedding Rings from Diamon Manufacturers
Wedding Rings from Diamond Manufacturers

Deciding on a Wedding Band is an important decision and requires careful consideration, as the ring is likely to be worn every day for the rest of your life. It is important that you take into account your lifestyle and how active you are as these are all important factors that you must consider when choosing the ring and there is no better way to make it personal than with a unique engraving.

Vashi Dominguez, Diamond and Jewellery Expert and Founder of Diamond Manufacturers, advises that customers think about the metal, style, comfort and budget when choosing a ring.

“When picking the right metal for your wedding ring you need to think about whether you choose silver, yellow gold, white gold or platinum. Gold, whether yellow or white is a good choice as long as you don’t go above 18k as the metal becomes softer the higher the carat, meaning that it won’t withstand the elements as well as metals in the lower band. If you have a particularly active lifestyle, platinum is the metal to choose as it is more resistant to damage and won’t tarnish.”

“Comfort is key when picking your ring. Make sure that the ring is not too loose in fear of it falling off, but also that it is not too tight either. If you type all day for instance you may be better with something thinner that won’t disrupt your everyday activities.”

Vashi comments “Make sure you know your budget and stick to it. Do your research and shop around to get the best wedding ring that you possibly can for your money. Buying online is often a cheaper way of buying jewellery as e-tailers don’t need to cover the costs of overheads like a high street store does. For example Diamond Manufacturers  are on average 61% cheaper than selected high street retailers.”

“When choosing the style opt for something classic and personal. Make sure that what you choose now will still be in favour in 20 years’ time. By adding something personal, such as an engraving, you ensure that the ring will remain special to you for years to come. Many people opt to have their names and the date of their wedding etched on the inside of the band or a personal saying that is special to them both.

Diamond Manufacturers currently offers their customers free engraving with the purchase of any plain wedding band adding a unique touch to your ring.

Wedding guest books are a lovely way to capture your guests thoughts on your wedding day, but the chances are that you will read it just after the wedding and then put it away somewhere safe until one day you stumble upon it whilst clearing the loft or the photo drawer.  Now I have no problem with that at all, I’ve been known to find one old school photo and before you know it, the whole family have gathered around to see just how many different hair colours and styles I’ve tried out (a lot I can tell you) and it’s wonderful to recall those memories.

But it is equally uplifting to keep those memories alive every day, which is why a signing frame like this one from JacquaBelle is a great alternative to a guestbook as it serves as a great piece of art and memento in one.  You choose a vintage or contemporary frame and a single or double mount and then let your guests fill it with thoughts, doodles, good wishes and memories.

The signing frames from JacquaBelle cost from £35.00, depending on the size and mount you choose.
